Feature spotlights

A new way to view forecast issue times

We have recently made an update to more clearly indicate when forecasts are delivered. Hover over the start of a forecast to see both the initialization time (referring to  the corresponding weather forecast) and the issue time (when the forecast was published). These timestamps also now show up in the tooltip.

The forecast drop-down on the top right of the flow forecast now displays the issue time of each forecast. See this support document for a summary of when forecasts become available in the dashboard.

Have any feedback on this update? We’d love to hear your thoughts on what information is most useful for you and your team. Check out the survey here to share any input you might have!

More frequent HRRR updates

We know that having access to the most up-to-date weather observations is important for many of our users, especially during active periods and when weather forecasts are continuously evolving. We recently shipped an update that allows us to load weather data from HRRR in the dashboard more frequently. HRRR observations are now updated in the dashboard every hour, and we have decreased the lag to about two hours (this is about how long it takes for HRRR to release their data).
