Whether you’re new to Lens or already in our community of customers, we’re happy to help your team find the right plan for your needs and budget. Our two standard offerings are Lens Focus and Lens Plus, and choosing the one for you depends on the size of your team and the features you need.

In the last year, we rolled out several new features at the Plus level aimed at increasing your team’s efficiency. We’ve found that Lens Plus customers spend less time without sacrificing quality. Powerful features help folks keep tabs on changing conditions, and smoothly integrate with other tools and processes. So if you’re on the fence, here are six checks to help you determine where your organization fits.

Here are 6 reasons why Lens Plus might be right for you:

1. You want to quickly respond to unexpected changes

The biggest perk of Lens Plus is hands-down our Alerts features. Vegetation Alerts help you spot changes such as clearings for new buildings, timber harvests, or wildfires so you can react swiftly. By automatically reviewing public satellite data from ESA Sentinel-2 as they are captured (so you don’t have to), Vegetation Alerts help you rest easy knowing that you’ll get an email if an event occurs on your site.

2. Parcel ownership checks are part of your monitoring checklist

In a similar vein, many organizations check for changes in land ownership at least every year, which can be a time-consuming task. We’re happy to say that there’s a better way! Lens Plus includes a special overlay displaying US tax parcel boundaries and details through our partnership with Regrid. We also have a Parcel Owner Alert feature to notify you of any ownership changes on a tax parcel that overlaps a property in Lens on a quarterly basis.

3. You have a big team

Lens Plus includes up to 15 user seats, compared to 5 in Lens Focus, so that your colleagues can all work together in Lens. And with read-only seats, you can give everyone access to the same information. The more the merrier!

4. You want to add a personal touch to your monitoring reports

If you’re interested in adding a bit more pizazz to your Lens reports, we’ve got a feature for you. Plus customers can upload custom logos directly through Lens, which will appear on all reports. This can make your monitoring reports shine, particularly if you’re sharing them with external stakeholders or landowners.

5. GIS is part of your team’s workflow

Streaming Lens imagery into GIS has never been easier. While Focus customers can download GeoTIFF files for certain imagery sources, Plus customers can stream any imagery ordered through Lens directly into your GIS platform. You can set up the integration with just a few clicks and view all your high-resolution imagery in GIS. While you can do just about everything right in Lens, being able to use imagery for those custom map making projects is a cinch with Plus.

6. You want to task a satellite and guarantee high-resolution imagery

Ordering imagery through Lens is a relatively affordable option, but comes with some uncertainty. So if you’d like to have more control over what imagery is captured for your properties and when, tasking is a great option to give Lens Plus customers a backup option. We’ll work with you to create quotes based on your specific areas and budget if you decide to task at any point during the year, and are able to partner with a range of vendors including Planet Labs and Airbus to guarantee the imagery you need.

If you’re new to Lens, you can sign up for the plan that suits your needs here and get started today.
