June is a busy month in water management—and we’re here to help. This month, we’re supporting customers through snowmelt and freshet season, gearing up for some big upgrades to our Seasonal model, and sharing stories from the field on how HydroForecast is helping teams navigate high-stakes weather events. Catch up on the latest product news, upcoming webinars, and conference highlights.
Join us on July 16, 10 am (PST)/ 1pm (EST), for an engaging webinar exploring how HydroForecast is helping customers like Sonoma Water navigate the challenges of atmospheric rivers. These powerful “rivers in the sky” deliver both essential water supply and significant flood risks across the globe, and HydroForecast can help water managers act with confidence during these high-flow events.
The newest iteration of our seasonal model, HydroForecast Seasonal-3, is our most advanced forecast yet. With more accurate projections, daily updates, and flexible horizons from 3 to 12 months, Seasonal-3 supports more proactive planning across your entire season so you can reduce risk and make better decisions. Reach out to the team to learn more about Seasonal-3.
Freshet — the annual snowmelt surge — is here, and our tools are helping operators plan with confidence.

We’re excited to introduce a new forecast variable—riverine water level. Water level forecasts can be added on to forecasts at any site where we have access to historical level observations or a rating curve at a gauge. Water level forecasting is available for early access to select customers who are providing feedback to shape its future. Whether you’re in hydropower, flood response, infrastructure, or navigation, if water level forecasting is relevant to your team, we’d love to connect.
In mining, water is both a vital resource and a costly risk. From mounting regulatory pressure and the impacts of severe weather, the need for smarter, more predictive water management has never been greater. Watch our recent webinar for a deep dive into how AI tools like HydroForecast are transforming surface water forecasting for mining, from managing water risks to optimizing resources.
In a recent article for POWER magazine, Jason Smith, VP of Growth & Commercialization, discusses why hydropower must be prioritized in our path to a more resilient, sustainable grid. Hydropower is often overlooked and it’s time that changes. We must modernize aging infrastructure, remove regulatory bottlenecks, and leverage public-private collaboration to fully unlock hydropower’s potential.

Our team enjoyed a week full of dam safety presentations and networking in Kansas City at the annual USSD conference. Dam safety is a key use case for HydroForecast and we were busy connecting with old and new dam owners who are interested in using cutting-edge machine learning modeling to increase the safety of their dams.
Laura Read, Head of Product Strategy, recently spoke at the NASA Western Water Action Office's annual meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The panel discussion covered how AI can help improve our understanding of changing hydrologic science and decision tools. Our HydroForecast model is powered by NASA Earth Observations and we are excited to be a part of the community that applies these important data sources. Read more in Laura’s LinkedIn post.
We recently attended the national ASFPM conference to network with floodplain professionals and learn about the latest innovations in the field. It was great to connect with old and new engineers, planners, and policy-makers to discuss how HydroForecast can be applied to reduce the negative impacts of flooding.
