New capabilities: Snow Water Equivalent insights

A look at the SWE insights now in HydroForecast

We've expanded HydroForecast to include powerful new Snow Water Equivalent  (SWE) analysis , giving water managers a clearer picture of snowpack conditions. SWE measures how much water is stored in the snowpack — a critical input for predicting spring runoff, reservoir inflows, and seasonal water availability.

Upcoming conferences

Spring has us on the road, and we have several exciting events ahead in Europe and the Western U.S.

  • ACWA  — Joining California's water leaders to discuss the future of the state's water resources and how advanced forecasting can support water management statewide.
  • Western Snow Conference  — Held jointly with the Eastern Snow Conference this year under the theme "North American Snow Collaboration." Our Solutions Engineer Alex Truby will present on integrating sparse snow observations into operational water supply forecasts using machine learning.
  • European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly — This international meeting brings together technical experts across the scientific fields. Upstream Tech CTO Alden Keefe Sampson will be presenting on “The Hydrologic Modeler’s Evolving Role in the Age of AI”.
